WORKSHOPS & SPECIAL EVENTS

The following programs can be adapted for special events or instructor training. Time frames for all events can be adjusted and adapted to your needs. Workshops include theoretical and practical.

WATER PILATES – This program creatively adapts Pilates exercises for the pool.  Elongate the entire body and build a stronger core by moving from the inside out. Develop strength and flexibility with fluidity and grace.  Learn how to move the body as an integrated whole.  Includes shallow water exercises, wall exercises and suspended noodle movements. 

WATER TAI CHI – Integrate the graceful, free flowing movements of Tai Chi into the pool while focusing on mind, body and spirit. The slow movement of this ancient Chinese martial art integrates power and grace while improving strength, flexibility, balance and well - being. Experience the movements on land and in shallow water.

WATER YOGA – Enhance flexibility, strength, breathing and body awareness while connecting the mind and body. Forward bends, back bends, twist and balance postures are creatively adapted for the pool.  Experience a flow style of linked poses combined with static stretches.  The stretches are performed standing in shallow water, at the wall and supported with a noodle.

FLUID SENSATIONS – Nia integrates dance, martial arts and yoga and was created by Debbie Rosas & Carlos Rosas in 1983.  Fluid Sensations draws on these concepts and combines with the principles of aquatics.  Learn how to combine movement form, structure and freedom.  Experience the water from a sensory point of view through dynamic changes in movement, focus and awareness.  Enjoy the freedom of movement along with fun choreography.  Energizing yet relaxing! 

TAI YOGA FLOW –Experience a dramatic blend of graceful Tai Chi moves and fluid flow style Yoga. Spiraling arms, martial art kicks, tree pose, half lotus, warrior poses and more create katas or dances. This unique fusion workout will keep you moving while enhancing strength, flexibility and balance.  Immerse yourself in stress relieving and “feel good” movements.  Gain new ideas for warm-ups, cool-downs and senior classes. 

PILATES POOL WALKING -  This course integrates the Pilates concepts into water walking.  Challenge the core musculature with trunk stabilization and extremity mobilization.  This low impact total body workout can be adapted for all fitness levels. 

DEEP WATER DYNAMICS – A challenging program that addresses the properties of deep water exercise, equipment and instructional techniques.  Learn suspended movement for cardiovascular and muscle conditioning.  Experience the relaxation and greater range of motion achieved during buoyancy.  (Equipment Required:  Flotation belts, cuffs, or noodles) 

INTRODUCTION TO AQUATIC FITNESS – Acquire the necessary skills to become a successful aquatic fitness instructor.  Topics include: Benefits, Unique Principles, Applied Anatomy & Kinesiology, Cardio Aqua Moves, Physical Laws, Class Structure.  Includes theoretical and practical skills.

ANTI  AGING METHOD – Feel and look younger with this unique fusion workout. Strengthen, stretch and mobilize the entire body with a blend of eastern and western movement.  Improve posture with Pilates and balance with Tai Chi. Become more agile and mobile with expressive barefoot dance movement.  Relax the mind with breathing and yoga stretching.
